Condolence From: Mark Burchill
Condolence: Maureen and Family-

I was very sad to hear the news of John's (Mr. C to me) passing. I got to know him as a player and always felt he was a genuine friend. He loved the lacrosse team and was always a positive force around campus. I stayed in touch with him over the years. He asked my advice about going on Semester At Sea which I had done and he subsequently was hired on as ship security staff. Most recently he called to discuss giving the wooden #10 that he created for our tenth championship to Coach Urick. He followed up by sending a picture of the presentation to me. He was a terrific human being and will be missed and remembered. My condolences to you and your family.

Condolence: We are so sorry to hear that John has left us...he was one of our favorite people to see when would come to Geneva and the Colleges. He was a integral part of the Hobart Community and it was so fitting that he received the honorary degree last year.
We always would jokingly spar about our Long Island roots - he being from Freeport and me the from town over in Baldwin. I will miss that and many other things. He is surely in a good place. The Calders

Condolence: My thoughts and prayers go out to John's family and friends. I got to know John well at Seneca Lake Terrace and am saddened by his passing. He was the kindest and gentlest man. Always a smile on his face. He loved sharing his many pictures and memories from his days in the service, to his days on the police force and harbor patrol. He was especially proud of his days at Hobart. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
